I have been in private practice in psychiatry since finishing my residency at Duke University in 1991. My practice was in Durham until 1994, when I moved to Chapel Hill, where I have been since. I was Board Certified in 1993, and have completed psychoanalytic training at the UNC/Duke Psychoanalytic Institute (now known as the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas). I have an appointment as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UNC and as Clinical Adjunct at Duke University's Department of Psychiatry. I am also on faculty at the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas. I have been teaching and supervising psychiatry residents from UNC and Duke since the mid 1990's. I am active in several professional organizations. Currently I am serving as President-elect of the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas.
